Introduction:
This is an individual project to apply basic building services systems into semester 3/4 design project.
Objectives:
- To develop students understanding and knowledge of building services systems in design and construction.
- To apply appropriate building services system and solution for a specific design.
- To demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of applicability of specific building services systems in the design in response to practical considerations.
- To develop students’ ability to resolve issues related to specific building services systems.
Task/ Methodology: (Individual)
This project is related to the students’ studio design project in semester 3/4 which relates to a domestic size building. Students are expected to demonstrate their understanding of building services by proposing and designing the most appropriate systems for the building which include:
a. Cold and hot water supply system
b. Sewerage & sanitary system
c. Drainage system
d. Electricity supply system
Therefore students are required to produce appropriate drawings and diagrams which include specifications, symbols, legends, images, texts, etc. to describe the planning and installation of all the building services. Additionally, students may also include specific clauses from the Uniform Building By-Law (UBBL) or other relevant Acts, Laws or guidelines which relate to the proposed systems into their presentation boards.

Learning Outcomes:
- Identify relevant information related to cold and hot water supply system, sewerage & sanitary system, drainage system, and electricity supply system.
