A first-hand conscious experience is important in the understanding and articulation of space. This assessment aims to develop skills in visualization and expression of space through free-hand on-site sketching activity around Kuala Lumpur. We are required to develop our skills in creating depth and tone in a sketch and thus refining and enhancing the ability to produce an architectural sketch that is legible.
We have to understand the features of the space such as: - Solid and Voids : Form, Skin, Structure - Opening/Aperture : Openness or Enclosure - Details - Texture and Materials - Landscape Setting - Scale and Proportion ( in relation to human and other surrounding built environment)
Criteria:
-Communicate clarity and accuracy of drawn information -Quality of line weight -Ability to demonstrate gained knowledge, skill, and understanding of orthographic projections in architectural documentation -Appropriate use of technique and scale
We are require to apply rendering techniques as below:
- Hatching
- Cross-hatching
- Scribbling
- Stippling
- Smudging
Also, we have to understand how tonal values work on the buildings.
